Whether it be New York in the late 70's, London in '89 or Berlin in the mid-00's, there have been so many cities that have enjoyed dance music's spotlight over the years. Sounds of the City is a brand new mix series from Ministry's specialist division that aims to provide a vivid snapshot of the music, clubs and DJs that defined the golden eras of their cities. This first release focuses on the Parisian underground house scene from the mid-90’s to early 00's with the hugely influential Dan Ghenacia at the helm.
With 20 years of experience DJing across the globe, as well as being one of the longest-running Circoloco residents at DC10 and a label boss (currently focusing on his new Apollonia imprint), it's fair to say that Dan Ghenacia knows what he's doing. Having mentored artists such as Dyed Soundorom and Shonky in recent years, Dan's now regarded as one of the stars of the scene, but with Sound of the City we go back to a time when he was just beginning to make a name for himself through his legendary after-hours residency at The Batofar.
