In the early 1960’s, the United States and Russia had begun the ultimate game of chicken with nuclear weapons. 加拿大國家藝術代表人物「湯姆•湯姆森」,出生於1877年,於39歲時神秘的逝世。他創造了專屬於加拿大的戶外野生畫風格,並成為「加拿大七人畫派」的靈魂人物,然後就在他意氣風發的壯年時期,意外地溺斃於自己獨木舟之中,這是一場意外? 還是一個謀殺案? 至今沒有人知道!但他的悲劇性死亡更奠定了他的「加拿大藝術之父」的地位。湯姆雖然過世,但其作品卻是加拿大重要的藝術遺產,本集帶您走訪位於郊外的麥米高加拿大藝術館,觀賞畫裡生動的風景描繪,並挖掘更多有關湯姆與七人畫派的有趣故事。
Tom Thomson, who represented Canadian art, born in 1877 in Claremont, Ontario, died in 1917 mysterious. He single-handedly inspired a new style of Canadian art depicting the great outdoors. His works influenced the style of Group of Seven ,a landscape artist group in Canada , as well. However, during his brightest period, he was drowned in his own canoe near a lake which he went regularly. Was it an accident or planned murder? No one knows. But it the tragedy cemented his legacy as the father of Canadian art, forever. Although Tom’s life was so short, he left Canadian art so much. This episode introduces the McMichael Canadian Art Collection to experience the painting and to find more stories and excellent works of Tom Thomson and Group of Seven Canadian.

Ceramics are windows into the secrets of the past. They are often used as a gauge of human civilization.
