The Police were an English rock band founded by American expatriate Stewart Copeland in early 1977. For the vast majority of their history, the band consisted of Sting (lead vocals, bass), Andy Summers (guitar) and Stewart Copeland (drums). The Police became globally popular in the late 1970s and are generally regarded as one of the first New Wave groups to achieve mainstream success, playing a style of rock that was influenced by punk, reggae, and jazz.
The group disbanded in 1986, but reunited in early 2007 to mark their 30th anniversary for a one-off world tour lasting until August 2008. The band opened the 49th Annual Grammy Awards on 11 February 2007 in Los Angeles, California, announcing "Ladies and gentlemen, we are The Police, and we're back!" The Police have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. On this DVD you will get both, one show recorded in 1980 and another one recorded nearly 30 years later in 2008. Compare and enjoy!!
