A deteriorating relationship amongst band members, culminated in the death of their drummer John Bonham pushed one of the greatest bands in the history of rock to disband in 1980. From 1968 to the tragic end, Led Zeppelin managed to transform themselves into one of the most popular bands on the planet. The band stayed true to their convictions, and did not perform as Led Zeppelin except on one occasion in 2007.
It took an invitation to perform on MTV "Unplugged", and the clever negotiations of music producer and manager Bill Curbishley to re-unit the driving force of this legendary band, singer Robert Plant and guitarist Jimmy Page to perform together again in 1994.
This new found collaboration was so successful, Page and Plant went onto make several recordings, and toured in support of their albums over a 4 year period. This period was no mere homage to their musical past of Led Zeppelin, but rather was an opportunity for these two great artists to push their creative boundaries.
This DVD is a testament to where two great talents, with the help of some amazing supporting musicians and orchestras, can take themselves musically while performing live.
