Passionate & cool
Classique & Jazz Vol II
CLASSIQUE & JAZZ – that is coolness and passion, brother and sister, emotion and mind: two musical concepts which fertilize and inspire each other for centuries, repel and complement, merge and separate from one another. Do they neutralize each other or even implode, when they meet?
Up to you, dear listener, find it out ... " CLASSIQUE & JAZZ Volume II"
The list of the great artists, we present on " CLASSIQUE & JAZZ Vol II", reads as a who's who of the music of the 20th and early 21st century:
Benjamin Britten, Aaron Copland, Miles Davis, Michael Tilson Thomas, Beatles producer George Martin, Claus Ogerman, John McLaughlin, Wayne Shorter (as soloist with Bobby Timmons and Jaco Pastorius), Fazil Say, Khalil Chahine, Daniel Hope, Christian Scott, Don Ellis and Sven Helbig, who writes, without bending, also arrangements for Rammstein and Sido, finally, Max Richter, who caused a sensation with his Vivaldi project and enjoys international admiration for his film scores "Waltz with Bashir" and "The Congress".
We have explained to our children: There is the best 100-meter runner, but never the best musician, actor or painter. There are just too many artists, who perform excellence - in the field of classical music, just as in jazz.
Classical music is serious and playful, passionate and emotional and corresponds in its entirety not at all to the soothing sound of the corresponding radio stations. And jazz originated not in gently sounding hotel lobbies, but in the bars of New Orleans, powerful and eccentric.
The listener of this compilation should listen with pricked up ears, literally tiptoeing, to the magnificent sound experiences. To quote the Blues Brothers: Once again we are on the road "in the name of the Lord".
"CLASSIQUE & JAZZ Vol II" is a 3-CD-set with great interpreters of both worlds, timeless and avant-garde, music from the 20th for the 21st century, visionary and exciting.
"Life is too short to drink bad wine," Goethe said. We complement: Life is also too short to listen to bad music.
Therefore: Play this music and play it loud!
