At the age of ten year old, Thomas Earl Petty's destiny to become one of America's most popular and prolific singer/songwriters began when he met Elvis Presley on the movie set in Florida. Tom Petty has often mentioned that his drive to be a member of a rock n roll band was further reinforced when he saw The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show. At that time, he would never have dreamed of the phenomenal success he would enjoy, and that eventually he would collaborate with some of his musical heroes as fellow members of the supergroup, The Traveling Wilburys.
Petty's longstanding and illustrious career has allowed him to become one of the modern music's most commercially successful artists with over 80 million album sales to date.
This collection of rare performances and intimate interviews is the latest instalment in the "Rocktrospective" series, and demonstrates Tom Petty's stage presence, and his sincere artistic integrity that is so widely recognised amongst his peers.
